Drive very slowly. This is
one of the best birding sites in the area but is not well known and therefore
not heavily traveled. Look for Eastern Loggerhead Shrike, Eastern Bluebird,
Upland Sandpiper, Common Nighthawk and various sparrows and warblers. The open
fields offer alvar flora including Balsam Ragwort, Harebell, Prairie Smoke,
Indian Paintbrush and Hairy Beardtongue.
